Then a new instructor shows up, and they want to do things their way. Drunk with power, they assign something that’s way off from what your professor’s doing. Bayer is being sued by a group of women claiming gender discrimination. Part of the claims say that the only women who rise to the top are childless, or women with full time nannies.

AND?

The gender discrimination that manifests at work starts at home. It starts, really, with physical differences. Of course I took six weeks off of work, I was bleeding like a stuck pig and my tits were so swollen I couldn’t see the computer keyboard when I sat down. So the child’s father went back to work as soon as he felt like it. Once I healed up, I was used to being a SAHM.

So what do we want? Do we want to outsource pregnancy and childbirth so we don’t have to take that initial six-week detour that begins “the mommy track?”

If these women can’t make it work at Bayer, I feel terrible for them (not). There are women making minimum wage who get fired if their child gets sick twice in the winter. They don’t have Bayer on their résumé to help them bounce back. They can’t afford a nanny who only watches their kids and can therefore keep the child during all but the most severe illnesses.

Ways Writing Papers For a Living Is Like Prostitution

I have trouble telling people what I do. My daughter gasped and said, “we’re supposed to do our own homework! You’re not supposed to do people’s homework!”
The money is irregular. Sometimes I’m rolling in it, and sometimes I’m paying my phone bill with nickels.
The hours are irregular and usually involve late nights.
It turns a fun activity into a job. I love researching my novels, but after a day of staring at LexisNexis and picking through the library stacks, I am DONE with literature for at least another day.
I dress terribly. Of course, my pajamas and pens behind the ear is not necessarily hooker garb, but I sometimes look like I belong on the street.

I used to get mad that her dad got all the credit. Every time I have to do some boring, necessary-to-our-lives task with her, I get the whiny end of the stick. And I’m not supposed to talk shit about how easy it is to play all day when you do NOTHING ELSE for your child. Because that’s bad for her psyche. She’s half her dad and talking shit about him is talking shit about her. I had always tried not to complain about it. Now I feel a little better about it.

As long as Firefox and Chrome have spell check for everything you type into a website, I will not stop laughing at stuff like this. How can you want to create buzz for COLLEGES and not bother to double-check your tweets? I’m dyslexic, I know things happen, but I check for them. They didn’t, which is why they made dumbest tweets.

This blog has turned from “dumbest tweets” to “common typos” as I expected it would. It’s really no longer funny, just people going “hahaha look how much smarter I am than you.” Again, I expected this, knowing the people who run the blog and seeing how they act on Twitter, but it still kind of aggravates me that it reached this point.
